Day 9 :  Explore Hidden Valley and back to Bamboo (2,310m-7,577ft) 7-8 Hours walk

Yes, a permit is required to climb Island Peak, and it can be obtained through a registered trekking or climbing agency. Today, we’ll be trekking from Chhkung to Pangboche, a 12km journey that will take us 4-5 hours. We will spend the day learning about proper climbing techniques and getting acclimated to the altitude.

Your guide will suggest delicious, hygienic special food during your trips. While on the trek you will be on 3 times meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, with Tea/Coffee) included in the package. After taking in the views, you’ll continue to Tadapani, which will take another three to four hours. Ghorepani to Poon Hill is a moderate uphill climb that takes about two hours. Once we arrive in Dingboche, we will have the rest of the day to explore this beautiful village and acclimatize to the higher altitude. The trek is 9 kilometers and will take approximately 5-6 hours. The walk is only 10 kilometers, but it will take us 5-6 hours because we’re gaining high altitude.
After a grueling 11 days of trekking, today is a much-needed rest and acclimatization day in Dingboche. It’s best to do some trekking before attempting a second climb (say after returning from Island Peak Nepal), just so that you’re ready for it when the time comes.
