Sonya Hwang, MD, is a board-certified pathologist specializing in anatomic pathology and cytopathology. Dr. Hwang received her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center.
She completed one year of Obstetrics/Gynecology Residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, then completed an Anatomic Pathology Residency at New York University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She also completed a Cytopathology Fellowship at New York University Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Hwang served as an Associate Professor of Pathology at Stony Brook Medicine.
